RARE INTERIOR ART Phone: 0203 581 5674 | 249 Beckenham Road, Beckenham BR3 4RP
Rare Interior Art is a creative studio that creates original art and limited-edition prints to galleries, businesses and end-clients throughout the UK, and beyond.
The print designs are headed up by resident artist Amber-Jane Raab, and produced in our production department, in small limited-edition runs which are carefully recorded. We take great care to come up with new concepts and push the boundaries so that our ranges are always changing and moving forward.
Founded in 2002, Rare has established itself with its photo-mosaic collections and hand-embellished designs. In 2015 Rare moved from industrial premises to its own gallery space in Beckenham, Greater London. The new space includes a gallery, a fully equipped workshop, and an art studio. It’s a hive of creative activity; an artist’s paradise with an impressive collection of artists’ tools and machinery to assist with the creation of new and exciting pieces.
As Rare Interior Art continues to grow, so will our collections. Follow our blog to be the first to find out what’s new. We’ll be showcasing new artists, letting you know what’s happening on the art scene in London, and giving the heads-up on any promotions we have going on.
RESIDENT ARTIST- Amber-Jane Raab
Amber-Jane Raab has been working in design in one form or another since 1995, first as a print designer, and later as the director of a design consultancy. She started Rare Interior Art in 2002, and has been following trends and designing unusual and thought-provoking pieces ever since.
Whilst at first she curated art from overseas artists, frustrated that she couldn’t find anything new and exciting that was affordable and UNIQUE, it wasn’t long before she started painting herself, and then designing her own prints. Within a year she had outsold the art she was importing, and within 3 years she was only selling her own work through Rare Interior Art.
‘I don’t like to say I’m self-taught – as I’ve learnt so much from so many artists, who continue to teach and inspire me.’
She works in print design and mixed media, often crossing them over to create pieces that entice the viewer to take a second look to see the full scope of the piece.
‘I wanted to create an environment where we could try new and exciting concepts, with the aim of creating show-stopping art without a hefty price tag. Art can be seen as so pretentious, I wanted to make unique, affordable pieces that everyone can enjoy in their space. It’s refreshing to see the success of Rare, and I’m constantly excited watching ideas and concepts come to life in each new piece that I create.’
